“Little minds are tamed and subdued by misfortune; but great minds rise above them.”..Washington Irving

Have an amiable weekend…read on..

Some of you may already know that I wrote a satire/commentary on life column for about 100 weekly newspapers for about 25 years. I quit some years ago due to losing my ‘mojo. As well as my sense of humor. Look up Peary Perry….” Letters From North America.”

Well. Bunkie…guess what? I’m back.

When I was writing my column, I would email it to them, and they would print them.

That is no longer an option since there aren’t that many papers left and they don’t want my stuff since it doesn’t produce any revenue.

Besides, it’s coming from an ‘old’ person.

Apparently old people can’t contribute these days.

I think I can.

Well, I’m here to tell you that each of you will get my weekly ‘Commentary on life’ each Friday from now on.

Do with it what you wish.

Print it, read it, chunk it, comment on it or ignore it. Use it for a bird cage liner.

It matters not to me at all.

In reading through some old fan mail, I was throwing away, I found that often times a column that I had written that I thought sucked really hit a nerve with someone and touched their heart.

I had a deadline to meet every Tuesday and often the columns I wrote late on Monday seemed to be the ones I thought needed a lot of work on them.

But often these were the ones that got the most compliments or provoked the most discussions.

So starting next Friday, you’ll get a 2-fer….a snappy quotation to end up the week and a rousing, inspirational column full of pithy material to discuss and cuss about all weekend long.

I’ll try it for a few weeks and see if my heart and brain are still into doing this….we will see.

I encourage you to share and pass these along if the mood strikes you to do so.

I’ll trust your judgement as to whether they are still applicable for today or maybe not,

We’ll see. Have a great weekend.
